Asad Umer swears in as minister for planning.

Asad Umer member of Nation Assembly from NA-54 Islamabad 3 swears in as minister for planning. The oath taking ceremony was held in Aiwan-e-Sadar Islamabad where President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi administrated the oath.  Asad umer returned to the cabinet after seven months.

Prior to this Asad was given the portfolio of finance, which he left after eight months in April this year. Asad at that time was offered the portfolio of petroleum by the Prime Minister Imran Khan which he politely refused and said that he will serve the country from outside the cabinet.

Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar who was serving as the minister for planning and special initiatives has been given the portfolio of national food security. This decision comes as a surprise because prior to this special assistant to the Prime Minister Dr Firdous ASshiq Awan had said that he will be given the portfolio of petroleum. Makhdoom   Khusro Bakhtiar is the member of national assembly from NA-177 Rahim Yar Khan 3.

In this loop of changes Sahibzada Mehboob sultan (member of National Assembly from NA-114 jhang-1) who was the minister for National food security and research has been given the portfolio of state and Frontier Regions, prior to his appointment Shahryar Afridi was heading this ministry in the capacity of Minister of state.

Imran khan at the start of his government last year announced that the ministers who will not perform according to the desired expectation will be changed. This is not the first time that the cabinet has reshuffled, before this in the month of April Fawad chaudhry was changed from the ministry of information and broad casting and was given the portfolio of science and technology, similarly Ghulam sarwar was changed from ministry of petroleum and was appointed as minister for aviation.
