Secretary General of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday warned government about the legislation for the extension of the Army chief. Referring to the hostile attitude of the ruling party towards the opposition he said.
He mentioned that the behaviour of the PTI led government is very immature and this will create hurdles in the way of the legislation. He accompanied with the Ex Speaker of the National Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq, pervaiz malik and azma Bokhari.
He said in recent time Prime ministers trying to portrait that they are the only patriotic party and all the opposition parties are unpatriotic. He said that PTI ministers are trying to prove that they are with the army d army is with them
This kind of behaviour makes the state institutions controversial which is not good for the country.
He announced that strategy of PML (N) regarding the legislation for the extension of Army chief will be finalized after consultation with the PML (N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
This is the first response of the main opposition Party after the court order. Through this statement PML(N) has categorically stated its stance in this matter, PML (N) has cautioned the government especially the Prime minister to change its attitude.
Supreme Court in its order advised the government to legislate about the tenure of the appointment and decide it once for all. Supreme Court has given government 6 months to pass the law from the parliament and until the law is legislated General Qamar Javaid Bajwa will remain Chief of the Army Staff.
