Test cricket is returning to Pakistan as Sri Lankan Cricket team reached Islamabad today for a series of two test matches. It’s been a decade since international test match was played in Pakistan. Due to security situation of the country the nation remained deprived from the international cricket.
But the situation has changed and trust of the other cricketing nations is building gradually and the international cricket is returning back to the country. Sri Lankan team this year visited Pakistan in the month of September and played an ODI Series of three matches and a t20 series of two matches.
Now the Sri Lankan team is due to play two test matches of the world test champion ship in Pakistan. Through these matches test cricket of Pakistan will be revived after a decade. The two test matches will be played in Pindi Stadium Rawalpindi and National Cricket Stadium Karachi.
Series will start with the first match on December 11 at Pindi Stsdium Rawalpindi. Pakistan team will be led by Captain Azhar Ali and the Sri Lankan Team will be led by Dimuth Karunratne. In Pakistan Team Fawad Alam will make a comeback in the international scenario after a decade. Fawad Alam during a press conference expressed his delight and belief to perform well for the country.
In the Sri Lankan Team former captain Denesih Chandimal has been given a chance to perform well for the country and make a comeback. Both the teams have expressed high hope for the matches. After the first match in Rawalpindi second match will be played at National cricket Stadium Karachi on 19th of December this year.
Sri Lankan Cricket team reached Islamabad today ahead of the First match on 11th of December.
